Oops, I did it again...

Via

My apologies.
The past few weeks I've missed a blog post here and there.

I'm taking 3 classes this semester, incubating a baby, teaching full time, and being a wife.

Please, forgive me, while I organize myself and get it all together!

Giving it all Up

I've always been one of those people that preached: You're not in control.  You've just gotta realize things happen for a reason.  Give it all up to God - He is the one with master plan.

Hence the reason why pregnancy has always been really scary to me.  I'll admit I'm nervous about labor/delivery and about losing the baby weight, but those things are minor.  What I'm really scared of is the fact that most of pregnancy is unknown no matter how many books you buy.  And, therefore, completely out of my control.

I use to think that as long as the baby was inside me, I could control his health and well being.  If I ate properly, exercised, drank enough fluids, and avoided toxins, he would be healthy, wealthy, and strong.  Although all those things will benefit my baby, they won't guarantee anything.  I just have to have faith that God will take care of me and my sweet boy.

It's not easy.  All these years, I thought I had done it, but only now am I really giving up total "control" or the control I thought I had over my life.

Yikes!

Curveball

When things happen unexpectedly it's really hard to locate the pockets of grace that usually exist somewhere in the madness.  When going through a storm, it's easy to focus on the darkness and miss the pockets of light that still shine through.

A few weeks ago, life threw me a curveball and it was amazing to see the grace that was received throughout the week.  Big things like finding out I will graduate before my baby is born and that baby is healthy and growing as he should be inside me.  And little things like Manda sending me a sweet text or my husband staying in town for the weekend to spend time together.

I've witnessed amazing strength, faith, and resilience in the past 3 weeks and it is so inspiring.  I hope that no matter what you are going through today, there are enough pockets to shed light on the grace you are experiencing all along.
