Pears

Writing this blog and paying more attention to fashion and what looks good on my body and bodies similar to mine has really opened my eyes and made me realize that for some time now I've been in denial about what my body type actually is.  And I came across this great visual:

All this time I've tried to convince myself that I was the "athletic" body type until I finally looked at this picture and realized I am more of a a pear/hourglass.  I was in denial because it's not what I wanted to be.  Gals, I've realized it's ideal! In fact, I've realized that all the women in Hollywood I find most beautiful fall into these categories. Now, I'm not knocking all those other smokin' body types, I'm just finally embracing mine!  And learning how to appreciate it.

Look at all these fabulous, beautiful women with this body type...

As I've been watching and playing with my own wardrobe, I've learned several things about dressing my body:
  1. Just because something is trending doesn't mean I'm going to look good in it.  And it's okay.
  2. Not all skinny jeans are made the same especially for a girl with a booty.
  3. Low waist pants do not look good on me; they land at the widest part of my body.  High waist pants accentuate the smallest part of my body.
  4. Pencil skirts are my best friend.
  5. Hemlines appear longer on a hanger.
  6. A womanly body deserves womanly attire.  Graphic tees and short shorts are not appealing on me.  Nor are they on most women in their late 20's.*sorrynotsorry*
  7. Modest is hottest.
  8. Quality undergarments make/break an outfit.
  9. Only buy things that look good on me - not on the rack.
  10. Statement accessories accent what we want to accent.
